Behind the scenes – where the big projects come to life

Upstairs from The Flooring Room is a room not many people know about. It’s a place where the air-con blasts all day, high-vis jackets hang from chairs, carpet samples line the floors, and project plans take centre place on the high table – big projects plans. This is the home of the commercial team whose job is to plan and deliver quality flooring to large building projects throughout the Bay of Plenty. Think hospitals, business centres, and whole retirement villages. There’s a lot at stake in getting it right and on time.

The Flooring Room Commercial team recently finished the four-story new building at 306 Cameron road which is the new offices for Tauranga City Council. The development required 4500 m2 of carpet – that’s 22 pallets of carpet tiles weighing in at a whooping 11 tonnes. What’s even more impressive is that it was all transported up the lifts by hand!

The Flooring Room, with its beautiful showroom, is a mecca for locals who are looking to renovate and they’re in luck when they walk through the doors. Because TFR caters for such large commercial jobs, they have the largest flooring warehouse in the Bay (located off site). This means that they can provide competitive pricing and have a huge selection to choose from. The commercial and domestic projects they undertake complement each other nicely and is what takes the company from strength to strength.

The commercial team works hard and a large part of why they do so well is because of the experience behind them, the passion for the job, and their huge network of contacts throughout the area. Yes, cost is a big factor when being chosen for a project but so is personality and that’s where The Flooring Room’s motto ‘where real value comes from real family values’ comes in. Chances are, you’ve walked over floors from The Flooring Room at some stage and they would have been completed with lots of dedication and even more laughs.

The Flooring Room offers a free measure and quote service for both commercial and residential projects. For more information, visit the www.theflooringroom.co.nz or get in touch with Steve today: steve@theflooringroom.co.nz
