The Flooring Room has the biggest flooring warehouse in the Bay of Plenty. How have we achieved this you ask? Through our strong relationships with our suppliers who have worked with us and trusted us for decades. In 1972, Steve’s dad, Peter, built up his own successful flooring business where he worked hard to deliver quality, fairness, and affordability to both suppliers and customers.
Fast forward 45 years and that same ethos still runs strong with The Flooring Room which became its own entity in early 2016. The benefit of having such a large number of suppliers and an abundance of storage is that we can buy in bulk, allowing us to deliver lower prices to our valued customers. Being a privately-owned business with a great reputation and iconic location also means that not only do locals know who we are, but they feel they can trust us. The benefit of Tauranga being the 5th largest city in NZ means word travels fast and that’s just how we like it. Thank you to all our positive customers who are great endorses for us!
On a larger scale, if a commercial project pops up needing a specific product, we are confident we can make it happen. We have a team (located upstairs at our showroom) who are some of the most experienced, large-scale flooring experts in the area. Having been in both the area and industry for decades has meant that for them, tailoring a competitive quote or sourcing that perfect product often includes a round of phone calls to people they have worked with over the years. Due to this team’s open approach and solid connections, The Flooring Room is able to deliver products that many others can’t. From rest homes to new builds, our commercial team can tackle any project entrusted in them.
For residential projects, we have a team who again, have a great network of connections. Their job is to ensure you get all the information you need to confidently take the next step with your flooring project. They can cover everything from free measuring consultations, colour matching advice, brand and material types, and price. It’s also worth mentioning, they’ll make an excellent cuppa if you visit our showroom.
