IBEX by CBC Construction & Wingate architects

This flooring project was completed for Ibex Lighting with CBC Construction serving as the head contractor. The design called for seamless integration with the space’s existing hard, stony surfaces.

Even the soft floor coverings needed a natural, textured appearance to complement the ceramic flooring. To achieve the desired finish, carpet tile planks were selected however, a significant challenge arose due to the tiled walkways between offices.

These created numerous pockets for soft flooring but resulted in height differences between surfaces. To create a smooth, flush transition between materials, the subfloor was built up using approximately three and a half tonnes of levelling compound. This ensured a level, hazard-free flooring solution.

The installation covered about 250m² and the work was staged over three months, with a dedicated two-person installation team handling the process. This project successfully balanced aesthetics and practicality, ensuring a cohesive and safe flooring solution throughout the space.
