Rebecca has been in the flooring industry for 15 years – she knows everything there is to know about flooring!  Rebecca started in Admin, then moved into Operations (making sure every job was planned and executed perfectly), and finally took on her role as a Flooring Consultant.   Having a BCITO certificate in flooring is the cherry on top.  Rebecca prides herself on her attention to detail, and her deep roots in the local Nelson community.  As a Flooring Consultant at The Flooring Room Nelson she loves the experience of transforming a customer’s home with new flooring.  In her spare time Rebecca loves reading, travel and time with her family and grandchildren.

Dean has significant pedigree in flooring – with over 16 years in the industry.  Dean started out in Operations, and has subsequently worked across both Sales and Management.  Dean is the proud owner of our amazing new showroom in Nelson.  Although a relative newcomer to Nelson (Dean has only lived here for 17 years) Dean is passionate about the region and all it has to offer.  He lives just up the hill with his wife Heather and two boys. Dean is keen on his sports, mountain biking, and all the Nelson region has to offer.

Karen is born and bred in Nelson and is the artist on The Flooring Room Nelson team.  Karen loves working with colour – and with qualifications in interior décor and flooring, is well placed to offer our customers in depth advice in the home décor.  Yes with 14 years flooring experience Karen is able to advise on all things flooring, but if you want advice on furniture or art, she’s always willing to offer an opinion!  As a Flooring Consultant at The Flooring Room Nelson, Karen loves helping customers to ensure their new floor is complimentary to their renovation or new build.  Karen has two grown up children, is a real foodie, and loves costume / clothing design.

Ben recently relocated to Nelson having spent several years working in the Timber Flooring industry in Canada. With an extensive background in both sales and project management Ben enjoys seeing the entire job through from start to finish. As a father to a very busy three-year-old, when Ben does get some down time, he enjoys being out on the water kayak fishing or hiking in the many surrounding mountains and national parks that the region has to offer.

Brendon keeps busy looking after our talented installation team, where his extensive experience in Operations and Logistics is valuable in ensuring Flooring Room operations run smoothly. Brendon believes in being highly organised, great communication and doing what he can to make others jobs easier.  His home life is just as busy keeping up with his wife and six kids.

Jarrod is our  super storeman. He makes sure your product has arrived and is ready for your installation. Jarrod spends the rest of his time in the skies training to be a commercial pilot.

Kim is our Showroom Assistant. She keeps our showroom up to date with all the latest flooring trends and fashions. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience from many renovations and projects she has worked on herself. She loves to chat to customers about their plans and ideas. One of her passions is restoring and re-homing antique and classic furniture.

Hayden is our resident tiler and is one of the best in the business with over 15 years experience. Hayden has been on the tools since he finished school 18 years ago, qualified through BCITO in 2013, and has since trained other tilers. Julie looks after the Flooring Rooms administration and accounts and has been involved in Flooring for decades. There isn’t much she doesn’t know about in the world of Flooring.  Julie is a keen follower of sports and is a qualified national netball umpire, although these days, most of her spare time is spent with her three grandsons.
